Museum of Art and History of Guanajuato
The museum is a stage for the construction of stories of nation and collective memory, of dynamic spaces around the collection, preservation and dissemination of cultural heritage, both tangible and intangible. In this sense, the Museum of Art and History of Guanajuato (MAHG) has been conceived as a meeting place for all citizens. Located in the heart of the city of León, it is part of the rich experience offered by the Pedestrian Route of this town. The Museum seeks to be a space of inclusion, suitable for bringing culture closer to all sectors of the population, with a special commitment to people with disabilities, so services and technical aids necessary to be an inclusive museum have been arranged.
The Museum of Art and History of Guanajuato is part of the Guanajuato Cultural Forum, one of the most important cultural complexes in the country, a government entity with a mixed board of directors – made up of public officials and opinion leaders from civil society – that promotes the entity as the cultural destination of Mexico.
