Recreational and ecological park, it is a protected natural area, with 337 hectares, 85% occupied by the El Palote.
Live an excellent family day, take a walk around the lake either running or cycling and gathering everyone to eat in one of the palapas with a grill, or whether you eat a grilled mojarra in one of the restaurants.
Ideal for practicing water sports as it has a jetty, with the option of taking a ride on the Parky boat or on a jet ski. Or simply admiring the ducks by the lake.
The Metropolitan Park of León has two perimeter tracks for athletics and cycling, which surround the park through seven kilometers of beautiful landscapes.
The Metropolitan Park of León is considered a protected natural area from September 2000.
You can tour the park on the tire trains that circle the lake.
It has ruins of a hacienda dating from 1758, flooded by the waters of the dam and can be admired up close on boat rides.
The park area includes the largest body of water in the municipality of León, which receives runoff from the Patiña, Calvillo, Los Castillos, India, Ibarrilla, Ojo de Agua de los Reyes and Hondo streams; and works in the control of the pluvial avenues towards the city of león, in addition to supplying water to 3% of the population.
